Introducing our CFP Board

The #BSidesMunich2025 – NEINth Edition Call for Papers closes on July 28, 2025. If you’ve submitted a talk or workshop idea (or you are going to!), you’re probably wondering what comes next.

*Who Chooses the Talks?*
Every year, a diverse team of volunteer security professionals makes up the CFP Board. With over 100 years of combined experience across different areas of cybersecurity, they bring a wide range of perspectives and expertise to the table. You can meet the Board at: https://2025.bsidesmunich.org/reviewers/

*How We Begin the Selection*
Each board member reviews the submissions and asks:

  • Is the topic timely and does it appeal to the reviewer?
  • Is the content clear and well-organized?
  • Does the content fit the timeframe and have an appropriate technical level?

After the individual reviews, the team gets together to build the conference agenda. The goal? A thoughtful, balanced mix of presentations and workshops.

*How We Balance the Agenda*
During this final phase, the board considers the mix of recommended presentations and workshops together. They make final selections based on:

  • Is there a strong balance between identify, protect, detect, respond, recover, and govern?
  • Are we mixing technical depth with strong storytelling?
  • Is there content for specialists, generalists, and the security-curious?

Selecting a balanced agenda is a careful and collaborative process. Big thank you to the CFP Board for their dedication! And, thank you to everyone who has submitted their presentation and workshop ideas! We’re looking forward to seeing which proposals make the final cut for our community in November.

See you there!
