Presenting: Our Hardware Hacking Village

Join us at #BSidesMunich2025 – NEINth Edition in our Hardware Hacking Village — a hands-on space for engineers, makers, and security enthusiasts to learn, experiment, and tinker with real hardware.

  • Electronics bench — work with logic analyzers, soldering and desoldering stations, multimeters, and EEPROM/MCU programmers; assemble a small board designed to teach soldering techniques; repair or revive old computers, consoles, and other electronic devices; bring your own device to dump flash or other memories and use professional tools under guidance.
  • Fault injection lab — observe and experiment with voltage fault injection against microcontroller targets using open-source toolchains; realtime results and guided demos from basic concepts to practical experiments.
  • Automotive diagnostics and hacking — hands-on with car ECUs for diagnostic access; use supplied security access algorithms and SSH into a Raspberry Pi to run Python experiments and explore attack surfaces safely.
  • Console corner — unwind between sessions playing classic systems: NES, SNES, Sega Mega Drive, Master System, and other retro consoles while discussing restoration and modding techniques.

Bring your old devices for repair, experimentation, or just to have fun — whether you want to learn to solder, dump a flash, try a fault injection demo, or explore ECU diagnostics, there’s a station for you. Stop by, get your hands dirty, and level up your hardware skills.

Our Hardware Hacking Village will take place on our conference day, 2025-11-17. Do you already have tickets? Then, you are set! Just come prepared to join. Don‘t have tickets yet? Your last chance to get tickets is Friday, 2025-10-31 at 9:00 AM CET. Learn more under: https://2025.bsidesmunich.org/tickets/
